Starting Sea of Thieves for the first time? Well, even if you played a bit, you might find a few missing details here and there. The objective of this game is to work with others to amass riches and chase down treasures, defend your lives, loot from enemies and complete quests. Once you start the game, you will want to stock up on the items you can find on the island you are currently located.

Find the Bananas for health, planks for fixing up the patches in the boat, cannonballs for your cannon etc. Once you are full, head back to the ship and drop all the items into the barrels on the lower deck. Now, you will have all those items on hand and room for the next time you go on ventures. Always go exploring islands with more or less empty pockets so you can collect as much as possible. After you gathered basic things, get ready for some quests. You can activate those in the Captain's Cabin on the ship. Once enough players have voted on the quest, you will get the destination information.

Then, head down to the map and find the matching island and hit a button to circle it. Try to remember the direction or have someone who can advise you later- now you can sail! Keep up with the terminology; the bow is in front of the ship, the stern is back, and hull is the main body between the bow and stern. The mast is the large wooden pole that holds the sails and the rigging is a rope that holds sails and masts. Port is the left side of the ship and starboard is the right side of the ship.
